Cité Mémoire: Explore Montreal's History Through Augmented Reality
Cité Mémoire is a free iPhone application developed by Montreal en Histoire. This app offers a unique and poetic experience, bringing the history of Montreal to life through augmented reality and storytelling.
With over 60 points of interest and augmented reality segments, Cité Mémoire allows users to roam the streets of Montreal and discover the city's rich history. The app also features twenty different projected tableaux, created by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard, which can be enjoyed at night.
Before your visit to Montreal, you can download the Cité Mémoire app and its content. The app provides detailed geolocalized maps, techno-historic tours for both daytime and nighttime, and a soundtrack for the installations and historical content. It also offers a choice of four languages: French, English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
Cité Mémoire offers various circuits, including the main circuit with over 20 tableaux projected onto façades across the city, a circuit dedicated to the Charlevoix region with more than 70 new digital contents, and five thematic circuits that take you through the different periods, events, figures, buildings, and sites that shaped Montreal's history.
